It was a sunny morning in Jasper, the sun having risen a few hours ago and the family having woken up around that time. Three days had passed since the night Humphrey went outside and let Runt hear the pups growing inside of his belly. Before now, jokes had been going around the family that Humphrey was abducted and full of alien eggs, but now they all knew for sure thanks to Runt seeing that a paw shape pushed out to him that night. They were all sitting around the center of their den, eating pieces of Caribou that had been caught by the hunters the night before. It was a confusing time for Jasper's western pack. While general life was going well that summer with plenty of food and water to go around, there was one wolf in the pack who was having quite possibly the strangest time of his life.
